1. Manual Directory Submission

Manual directory submission simply means visiting each directory and submitting your website manually. This will involve manually filling in the required information before submitting the site. There is a general consensus among webmasters that manual submission is more preferable over automated submission due to the following reasons:

  • You have more control as to which directories to submit or not to submit to.
  • Many websites use conformation captcha code to prevent spamming. The code needs to be entered manually to complete the submission process. Automated submissions may experience difficulties with such a requirement.

• Make sure your site does not give the impression that it is under construction by say having broken links.
• Read the submission guidelines for each directory so that you do not violate any of the rules
• Don’t write any promotion oriented descriptions. How to write titles

One way linking means that you do not have to link back to the website that links to your website. Speed of directory submissions

When it comes to speed of doing directory submissions, feel free. You can even submit to 1000 directories in one day. Why? Because all of them will not approve immediately. You’ll get approvals (or rejections) and they keep coming for months. So that would actually be a slow link building even if you submit 1000s in a single crazy day.
